When Herbert Baumgartner in the late ’70s decided to set up his own business, he relied on two things: His knowledge and experience in the development of electronic components and his idea for significantly improving eddy current testing using the then-new microprocessor technology. More than 40 years and many successful ideas later, the ibg Group has developed into one of the world’s leading manufacturers of eddy current instruments for non-destructive testing (NDT).
Consistently focusing on the field of components testing, our team through the years has succeeded with innovations and inventions to repeatedly improve the component testing industry and often paving the way for solutions that were previously unthinkable.
Whether the Preventive Multi-Frequency Technology evaluation PMFT in microstructure testing, the Simultaneous Harmonic Analysis iSHA, the temperature-adaptive structure test iTAS, the automatic tolerance zone generation or multi-channel testing and good-parts-only-calibration in the crack and grinder burn test: ibg’s instruments from the legendary eddyliner P to our actual fully digital eddyvisor family are always leading the market and are beloved by production worker around the world for their ease of use combined with great test results.
Thanks to our constant innovation and technological leadership, many world-leading industrial companies, including those from the automotive sector entrust us with the realisation of their test tasks. We are thereby driven by our motto “Your challenge is our passion”, which describes best our focus on your specific requirements and the search for the perfect solution.
Our product range includes the most advanced digital test instrument family in the market for eddy current testing and other NDT technologies, as well as purpose-designed complete test systems from simple mechanical arrangements to complex fully automated high-speed in-line testing systems. From a single source – a sophisticated turnkey solution perfectly suited to exactly meet your test needs and specifications.
In 2019 we added another market-leading NDT brand to our ibg Group: The extensive history of the AVIKO ball scanner originated in 1961 at the former company Somet in nowadays Czech Republic. At that time, the first AVIKO ball scanner was developed, which was designed for surface inspection of steel balls only. The development continued over many years with improved laser optics and vibration controls. As of 2004 Sorting Solutions originated and carried the AVIKO brand until 2019 when the ibg Group purchased the company and created a new platform for advancement in the technology sector.
Built on more than 60 years of AVIKO Ball Scanner history our primary focus is the production of various machines for NDT quality control such as crack detection, temper line and grinder burn detection, high precision diameter sorting, and various other properties of balls and rollers. Sorting Solutions cooperates with companies worldwide that engaged in the production of bearing balls and rollers including other industries such as automotive, aerospace, industrial, and medical. Our machines and probes are specially adapted for various materials, whether it be steel, ceramic, glass, or plastic.
