The ibg Ring Tester Small is designed for automatic crack detection in the inner and outer rings of bearings with the eddyvisor C. The raceways as well as the outer and inner diameters can each be tested by one or two probes using a line scan. After testing, parts are sorted into OK or NOK. The test system is mounted on a sturdy metal frame, ideal for production environments, offering space for the steel cabinets housing the instruments and PLC (incl. Siemens SPS).

Principle of Operation

The inspection system employs one or two probes for line-scan testing of raceways and inner/outer diameters. Clean, upright parts are separated and fed into a transport wheel, where they are accelerated and rotated by belts. At the test station, adjustable rollers provide lateral fixation while the probes scan for surface defects, after which parts are sorted into OK and NOK. Rings must be free of particles and dripping fluid. System setup is performed using ibg's good-part-only principle. NOK masters are only used to verify detection performance in trials. Infeed height at 1350 mm, outlet height at 1150 mm.
