Automated Test System for Ring-Shaped Components (ET/iORS)

The Ring Tester is designed for automatic crack detection on ring-shaped components, such as bearing races and gears, with the eddyvisor C. Additionally, customers can test for grinder burn on inner and outer rings of roller bearings. For this, a robot handles and guides the sensor along the contours of the test part.
The machine performs tests using up to two probes. All relevant scan parameters and communication for controlling the eddyvisor C are included in the robot scan program.

At the core of the system is the eddyvisor C eddy current 2-channel to ensure reliable crack and grinder burn detection. Process automation is handled by an integrated Stäubli TX2-60 robot. The entire system is controlled and operated via a switch cabinet with an integrated control and operating panel. A vertical spindle with chuck securely clamps each test part during inspection. Identified non-conforming parts (NOK) are automatically sorted onto two dedicated NOK storage tracks. A separate storage area for reference and master parts supports calibration and ongoing quality assurance during testing. The system features the Optical Reflection Sensor by ibg (iORS) for precise non-contact inspection of rings.
